Giving post dated cheques to clients and customers is a norm in carrying business activities and transactions.
Recently I issued a post dated cheque to a customer, who either intently or by mistake deposited the cheque in his bank. My Bank imposed me a cheque return charge for no fault of my own.
The fault lies with the depositer and then majorly on the collecting bank who should have checked the date on the cheque before processing it for clearance.
Its always, that the 'oversight' of the bank has to be borne by the customer only and the banks do not share the blame, be it a small case of oversight of the date of the cheque or announcing annual profit, like in the case of NIB Bank.
The bank cheque issued was of Askari Bank, Sh-e-Faisal and the collecting bank was Habib Metropolitan Bank, Paper market branch
