Now that many of the deposed judges have been restored and have taken fresh oaths, I am getting very much interested into the steps these re-instated judges will take for the freedom of the judiciary.
If my question do not come in contempt of court, I would like to know what steps are the judges taking, specially the re-instated judges for the freedom of the judiciary. How are they trying to ensure swift justice to the masses and quick disposal of the cases.
As to the common man, nothing is changing be it be democratic or dictorial form of government.
My car was stolen from Tariq Road, and was recovered in a days time.
Though I had installed a tracker system in my car, with the feeling that I would not be required to go thru the legal process in case my car is snatched or stolen and will be receoved and handed over to me by the tracker company. This proved to be other wise.
More so becuase the tracker company with the help of the police were able to catch the culprits, and for this an FIR is necessary as the theives were caught in the car.
I had to register an FIR (First Information Report) to report my car being stolen. FIR bribe: Rs. 500
Now that the FIR has been registered, I cannot drive my car as the car is not yet cleared from police and taxation depoartment as it has been reported stolen.
So now I had to have it cleared from the excise department, requesting them that the car has been receovered and that it should be given a NOC so we may drive it again.
Then we had to have a clearance from the court, that our car was stolen and recovered, and that the court is requested to hand over the car to us. The court then goes thru the proceedings and make a final order.
We also had to submit a Rs. 500000 bond in the court, promising that we will not sell our recoevered car , and that if the court demands we will present the car in the court for any legal proceedings or requirement.
BRIBE thru out this process comes to around Rs. 5000
Total Bribe so far RS.5500
Total Time for all this process : depends on how good you can bargain , but it took us around 1 month to have this all cleared.
So finally we can now drive our car again on the road.
WE are more afraid of the legal system than the theives, as the theives will strike do their bit and will leave us, but reporting the theft incident to the police so more fearful, as we have to go thru the trauma of telling the police how it happened, where is happened, and at times police will try to implicate the victim in the case.
Anyhowm, the car is back so we can drive it again , but what will happen when we will have to sell the car ?
We will have to have the bond cancelled.
A final report to be obtained from the court and then submitted to the excise department and then closing the case and FIR.
Again this process will take around 2 months and some 25000 PKR.
But since we are not going to sell our car any time soon, we can have some peace of mind for the time being :)
