As the event was nearing, some of our volunteers started putting up posters on their university campuses and around commercial areas of their respective residences.

Another marketing technique that we so efficiently managed was, we asked our volunteers to start sending sms to radio programs at various times, ensuring that they do not spam the radio with similar messages.

They would send a message to the radio channel some thing like:
"do you know any thing about the national anthem event on 14th August ? "
"national anthem event in on , on 14th august at da zamzama club"

the RJ would read the message and would comment etc, a few other listners would pitch in, sending their suggestion or comments or wanting to know more about it.

I personally sent sms to FM 107, morning show of adeel azhar.
He was the only RJ I have been following for a few months, and his programs were loaded with all sorts of information from current affairs to entertainment.

He read out a few of the messages, then abid pitched in, we sent our facebook page address and how the target has been reduced etc, this built up the interest more among the radio listners.

This was a big prmotion tool that we learnt.

Another marketing tool that we employed was a "flash mob" concept.
We made our volunteers go and stand anywhere in the city and start singing the national anthem while holding the posters in their hands.

Since it was the month of august, already the independance month , a few of the volunteers gathered at various locations around the city and sang the national anthem and gave the people the details about the national anthem event.
This proved another positive step towards the event as people appreciated them singing the national anthem at such a public place like a market, tariq road and promoted the event.

The final flash mob presentation was on the eve of the event on 12th August 2011 where we sang the anthem at various locations around DHA Area.
